Believe it or not, it's said that the very first recognised Tribute Act was a live show devoted to the music of the phenomenal brother and sister singing duo, The Carpenters. If true then it shows the amazing popularity enjoyed by the twosome back in the 70's and early 80's before it all came to a crashing stop Karen's untimely loss. Even if you weren't a fan, you almost certainly knew one or more of their songs and perhaps, guiltily back then, hummed a tune or two walking quietly on your own.
