No one had really heard of The Commodores until 'Easy' and then '3 Times A Lady' raced up the UK charts back in the late 70s. Leaving the Commodores in 1982, Lionel began an amazing solo career with the famous 'All Night Long' which launched him as a successful solo artist and the rest, as they say, is history.
